I wondered if he would remember—the sights, the sounds, and the views…would he be excited? What would be rolling around in that little head of his?
As we packed up our bags and boarded the plane, deep anticipation filled my soul. Sledge has taught me that adventures that require dependence on the One who made us are worth whatever they require.
Yes, it will ask us to get uncomfortable.
Yes, it will feel tiring in moments when we’d rather tap out and take a nap.
Yes, it will prompt our patience to kick in when things don’t always go as planned.
But it will also position us in the perfect place to trust the will, ways, and Word of God when our minds wander and our body grows weary.
After a loooooooooong day of traveling, a little turbulence, and some hiccups along the way, we made it.
Back in Texas to work with @kinactive_kids and @danapt98 to learn, be challenged, + soar to new heights as God unveils new things.

I unbuckled the walker + placed Sledge in front of it—as he grabbed the straps, he looked in my eyes, put his little hand around my face, + made his little sound that means “yes, mama.”
Despite a million little changes he had been asked to make, he was ready. I suppose he remembers what I often forget: when our Heavenly Father calls us on an adventure or gives us an assignment, we need not be afraid. We have been prepared for such a time as this.
My man cruisin’ through the hotel as if he owned the place, turning his walker like a pro (this is a new feat! 👏🏻), knowing to press the buttons + open doors + when to wait/go…all of it are little miracles—glimpses of Heaven.
And you know what the best part is? God is ALREADY proud of sledge before he ever shows up to an eval or appointment. We aren’t performing for our Father; we are delighting in what He’s asked of us, fully expectant that He will cover our gaps.
We just get to have fun…to be present…to walk in peace no matter the particulars…and to get excited because God is always doing a NEW thing 💫
