Take care of your soul.

on November 20, 2024

Hearing the word “soul”, I wasn’t always sure of what that meant. Is it separate from our hearts and minds? What controls it? How do we access the innermost parts of it? What does a healthy soul look like?
Much like the Gospel and everything God created, it is separate but it’s also connected. Interwoven amidst the deep chambers of our hearts and the corners of our minds, and always exposing itself in the physicality of our body, posture, attitude, and life in general.

It is the life center of who we are. It is the iOS system of our beings—it determines how we receive, process, handle, hold, and live out every aspect of our lives.
In other words, if something is off, the root cause is the soul. It’s the only place that allows for true transformation.

We like to deal with the outer issues or give temporary stand-in fixes but the reality of where you and I both are in our lives is a SOUL ISSUE. It is the very fabric of who we are at our innermost core, which is why it’s often termed the “hidden place”—because it’s who we are when no one is looking. What do we believe about God? Where do we place value?
The fractures in our soul often cause us to place unnecessary filters on others, ourselves, + life in general, leading to misalignment, misinterpretation, + misleading in what God actually says, who He truly is, and what His definition of good actually looks like.

So—how is your soul? Are you living with the notion that it’ll catch-up or you’ll handle the heaviness or hardship or hurt or lack of health another day?
The truth? It’s already caught up to us.
The health of our soul is always revealed. We can’t afford to wait to prioritize it most. Everyone we love, including Jesus, either receives the ramifications of our wounds or the rewards of our healing.

Give your soul space to breathe. Your life depends on it 🤍
