Ten reasons to let the offense go this Christmas season

on December 18, 2024

It’s weighing on you. In some moments, you can feel its grip. In others, you deceive yourself into thinking it’s not affecting you…that’s much, at least, right?
This Christmas season, would you be willing to let it go?

🤍 It’s Biblical. Proverbs, Matthew, James, 1 Peter + the list goes on. “Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.” -Proverbs 19:11

🤍 There are so many things that need your attention. Don’t miss the important because you’re caught up in the trivial.

🤍 Forgiveness remembers the grace you’ve been extended. Aren’t you so glad that God doesn’t hold onto the millions of times you’ve betrayed, disappointed, or forgotten Him?

🤍 It’s impossible to hold onto offense and not be affected by it. Like a toxic water that leaks into every area, it steals your ability to show up + love like you’re called to.

🤍 God is your vindicator and He is just. He knows what you don’t. Are you willing to let it go if Jesus is the only one who knows how deeply it hurt you?

🤍 Healing happens when you excavate the pain and lay it at the cross. The comfort you’re seeking is on the other side of releasing it to Jesus + letting Him help you.

🤍 You want to share the love of Jesus? There is almost nothing more powerful than offering forgiveness. Life is about discipleship, which requires letting it go.

🤍 When you’re holding onto offense, you can’t see correctly. Your filter is skewed until grace intervenes. Ask Jesus to help you see again.

🤍 Bitterness, even of the smallest accord, turns into the heavy burden of resentment. Like a weighted blanket you can’t escape, resentment makes your heart cold + sterile.

🤍 Life is short. Don’t wait for a tragedy you can’t come back from to decide to really let it go. What would the view from Heaven suggest?
