You know that He’s with you.
You believe that He’s all around.
But for whatever reason, it feels different to imagine His fleshly body coming up, pulling up a seat, + His warm smile infiltrating the place we sit.
His Word says, “Come to Me”, and though we do, sometimes the lack of the physical touch keeps us thinking that there is a barrier…or that the interaction isn’t as intimate, as real, as practical, or as personal as we’d like it to be.
But can I ask you—wherever you are—what would it be like if the Savior met you for lunch?
Literally, His working but smooth hands wrapping around you for a hug as you both sit down and somehow food appears—did you pay for it? How did He know what you wanted to order? Did you even know what you wanted to order?
And then you eat, you drink, and your body feels nourished in a way it couldn’t have been had you been alone and eaten the same thing.
His eyes tell a million stories and inspire hope for a million miracles to come all at once.
You begin to speak and tell Him what’s weighing on your heart, fully aware that somehow—He already knows. He sees beyond this moment and into every eternity.
You feel seen. Safe. everything else somehow drifts away but not in a frivolous sense, in a way that assures you it is cared for and kept by Him.
When your face looks at His, you feel lost for words. How could He be so good + so kind and so gracious, knowing all that He does?
And as He responds, He asks you about the thing, tells you about _____, or speaks life into…well, you name it.
It’s personal.
It would be invasive if it were anyone else but with Him, you were yearning for Him to remind you of the truth.
You feel the life-giving power of the Spirit all around you…
The resentment that wanted to stay, the fear that wanted to take over, the critic that tried to turn the volume up, the overwhelm that wanted to keep you paralyzed, the stress that’s been trying to kill you…suddenly, they find their place.
New meaning.
Eternal perspective.
Wisdom more precious than gold silently whispers the way + you know that He will help you.
And as you leave, you realize, this could always be your reality. Communing, trusting, + living LOVED 🤍
