Let the Word direct the narrative

The voice you let instruct you will always determine the narrative that writes your life.
Sometimes, it’s subconscious, like an undercurrent that slowly pulls you in a direction, no matter your intention.
Either way, there isn’t much middle ground.

Think about it—when you survey what they sound like…

The world says self-sufficiency. You’re an island. Don’t lean into God or count on others. By romanticizing the independence Gospel, you forgo the communion with God and others.
The Word: DEPENDENCE. It’s the only way. Remain in Him. You can’t do this on your own; it has nothing to do with a lack of capability but everything to do with the exchange.

The world says “Make it happen!”. Go. Pry open that door—because what if another doesn’t open!? And time! It’s passing! Will you miss it?
The Word: WAIT ON HIM. He’s preparing, pruning, positioning, protecting, + providing. He holds time.

The world whispers, “It revolves around you,” as you make decisions, navigate relationships, handle conflict, and choose your schedule. Hoping offense + selfishness guides your way, it misses the whole point.
The word: IT’S BIGGER THAN YOU. Come! Build the Kingdom! Be slow to take offense so you can be quick to love. Broaden your eyes + strip the filters. God’s doing so much that you can’t see.

“Fix it!”, the world screams. try to control it! Hoping you forget the track record of the difference between white-knuckling + white-flagging, knowing surrender is really the only way.
The Word: ENTRUST IT. Only His hands can keep it safe. Only He can multiply, mend, + masterfully bring together what’s needed.

The world reminding you, “Be impressive or you’ll be forgotten.” Hoping you build your own castle, knowing it has no lasting power.
The Word: FOCUS ON THE UNSEEN. Keep your hands in the dirt. Health is worth it. God sees. It’s growing. Eternity is being impacted. This is the good stuff.

You see?
It will require some rewiring, releasing, renewing, + restructuring. Probably some reprioritizing.
But the ONLY way to peace + purpose is letting the Word direct the narrative.

The Jesus way will call you to forsake the normal, expected, + the impressive. But in exchange? LIFE.
