‘Tis the season for advent…the waiting and leaning in as the King prepares to come. We know the story because we live a rendition of it every day—the King of ALL grace and ALL glory came to rescue us. The wonder of Christmas is all around us if we have eyes to see.
Jesus, thank You!!!
Thank You for halting my steps + arresting my mind, allowing me to actually take in what’s around me and assess where I am. I often forget how the hurry hurts my life until I’m forced to recognize it—thank You for showing me how to pause and welcome Your presence where I am.
You are calm in the chaos.
You are strength in struggle.
You are clarity in confusion.
You are hope amidst the hurdles.
You are peace in the pain and the panic.
You are worthy of every breath that I can give you praise and so much more. Gratitude helps me see. I’ve learned that a posture of worship is my greatest protection—it brings heaven to earth.
Instead of living homesick and missing the here and now, You help us live with our true home in mind, bringing miracles to pass + making all things new!
Draw my eyes to You—may I be acutely aware of where You are—show me how to value what You do. Order my life according to Your Word.
Sometimes the posture of gratitude is robbed from my wants screaming loud as the world tells me what I need but only You know. Only You can provide. Quiet all the voices so that I can hear You.
I yearn to know Your heart—this quest is my greatest adventure and the safety of my soul. Teach me how to forgive, respond, show up, + LOVE as You do this Christmas season.
