Timing is everything.

Timing.
It is the greatest mystery and blessing of life, isn’t it?
It’s the commodity that we all want more of and yet, once we receive it, sometimes squander it rather than steward it like we know we are called to do.
It’s the thing that we often don’t realize in real-time—as the moments are passing, or even the years, we don’t realize the dots that are being connected, the fingerprints of God that surround us, and the work that was taking place underneath the surface. It is always through time that the strength of a root system is revealed; and the same is true in turn, it takes time to build roots. To cultivate an infrastructure that can endure the gravity of life’s storms, we often have to die to our own timing and submit to His. That’s actually always how it goes.
We see the here and now—the answers feel obvious, don’t they!?
And if God could answer our prayer NOW, why would He wait?
And if He could make something come to pass, why wouldn’t it?
And if greater health or power or purpose could be possible on the other side of _____, why doesn’t He circumvent the journey and plop us at our destination?

But we know. You know. You have seen it—it is the dying to your own timeline and repositioning yourself in humility that you remember what is true: He knows better. He knows what is good and what is true. He knows the way of purity and the path to righteousness. He knows what will truly bless you and what will FEEL like blessing but end up in destruction. He knows the road to refinement that will reap a harvest in Heaven that nothing on this earth can touch, take, or tarnish.
His timing is often not what you would prefer but is ALWAYS what you’d prayer for if the veil were lifted, all things exposed, and eternity in mind.

We are all in the midst of asking, “But when will ______happen?” In some way shape or form. Whether it feels big or small, we feel the pendulum swing of wanting to white-knuckle the clock but then we are reminded of our smallness and His sovereignty.
The sun rises again, His systems display His wisdom, and things fall into place as we look back and softly whisper, “I didn’t see it…but now I do.”
